COVID-19 has thrown up many new issues we’ve never encountered before and pushed businesses all around the world in many new directions. In reacting to these challenges here and in the USA, we have been asked to share our experience in the US market.
Precision Ceramics attended the first Ceramics Expo Trade Show in Cleveland and have attended all the subsequent shows under the banner of our sister company, Precision Ceramics USA.
This year’s event has been delayed by the current pandemic and with the ceramics industry in uncharted territory, the organisers of Ceramics Expo launched a survey into the industry and how it’s coping. The results of this survey made compelling reading and to share this with the widest possible audience, a webinar was held in which 4 invited participants discussed the results. With 42 years in the ceramics industry, I was selected for the panel along with representatives from 3 other companies, each from a different market or sector of the industry and all sharing their own feedback.
The Webinar had a strong participation with representatives from over 170 companies all involved in the ceramics industry taking the stream. The webinar lasted an hour and is still available to view on the Ceramics Expo website for catchup.
From the questions sent into the panel, it was clear that everyone is in uncertain of what the future may bring but having seen and heard what others in the industry were doing, I hope that people don’t feel so isolated with their problems.
