Diamond Grinding Facility Now Fully Operational
Following
last year’s acquisition of Shanoc Precision Engineering by
Birmingham based Precision Ceramics, the diamond grinding operations
of both businesses have now been successfully consolidated into a
single unit at the company’s Lower Tower Street headquarters.
Shanoc
specialised in the diamond grinding of several key ceramics
including alumina, silicon carbide, silicon nitride, titanium
diboride and aluminium nitride. Following the acquisition, their
entire stock of raw materials, together with specialist grinding
equipment, was transferred to Precision Ceramics.
Shanoc
supplied their specialist services into applications as diverse as
research, scientific instruments , medical , nuclear, military,
lasers and aerospace and their extensive tooling knowledge is
now set to considerably improve the quality and precision of diamond
drills and form tools used by Precision Ceramics.
Throughout
the transitional period, Shanoc's Managing Director, Ken Huetson,
provided full support and continues to offer technical help and
advice to Precision Ceramics based on over 30 years experience in
ceramic grinding.
