Major Investment by Precision Ceramics Brings With It Customer Rewards …
The majority of technical ceramics are hard and brittle which makes complex machining a particularly difficult task. Even for the most experienced in this field, an in-depth material knowledge coupled with a sound understanding of manufacturing design and machining tools is essential to ensure the highest quality end product at the most competitive price.
Precision Ceramics has over 20 years’ experience in the design and machining of technical ceramics for an ever-widening array of worldwide applications. We have consistently invested in the very latest state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and, as a result, a bank of multi-station machining centres now stand side-by-side at our UK headquarters in Birmingham allowing us to produce even the most complex of technical ceramic components efficiently, economically and to the very highest specifications.
As you would expect from such a high-tech manufacturing operation, drilling, milling, tapping, threading and turning are all standard everyday processes but recent investment has allowed the introduction of 4th and 5th axis machining centres, significantly increasing the versatility of our manufacturing process. So much so that now, after detailed programming by our highly-experienced operators, a block of raw material can be loaded into one of our machines and half-an-hour later, a complex technical ceramic component can be complete and ready for final inspection.
This process too has witnessed a great deal of focus. A fully controlled inspection facility with co-ordinated measurement system accurate to 0.02mm is now in operation to ensure that our rigorous quality standards are maintained at all times.
All in all, our current manufacturing operation has every angle covered and brings with it significant rewards for our customers …
We can typically create the same product in a variety of different materials using a wide range of different techniques and therefore give our customers the best possible choice to match their own specific requirements.
In one of our multi-station machining centres, a quick-lock clamping rotary system with interchangeable jaws (right) allows multiple loading of components which, in turn, reduces cycle and operator time.
Through our continued investment in machinery, technical ceramic components are manufactured in the most cost effective way, the rewards of which are passed directly onto our customers.
High Quality Products
We have spent over 20 years developing our brand which is now well established as a worldwide authority in technical ceramics. With continued investment, we are fully confident that our customers will receive the very highest quality products and service.
