Rich Technical Programme of Science at AVS 2014 in Baltimore …
Scientists convened in Baltimore for the 2014 AVS International Symposium and Exhibition from 9th to 14th November for a rich technical programme of science involving materials, interfaces, and processing.
The symposium “ …fosters a multidisciplinary environment that cuts across traditional boundaries between disciplines, featuring papers from AVS technical divisions, technology groups, and focus topics on emerging technologies. The equipment exhibition is one of the largest in the world and provides an excellent opportunity to view the latest products and services offered by over 200 participating companies. More than 2,000 scientists and engineers gather from around the world to attend …”
Among the popular sessions were those connected to the special focus topic ‘Conservation Studies of Heritage Materials’, co-moderated by Fred Dylla, AIP CEO and former president of AVS. Inside Science contributor Joel Shurkin produced an article, ‘Science and Art Meet, Unveiling Mystery and Cultural Tragedy’, on the talks by scientist-conservators and they how analyze, and sometimes unlock mysteries from great works with such techniques as synchrotron radiation, ultraviolet-induced fluorescence, and x-ray fluorescence multispectrography.
Having successfully participated at the 2014 FlAVS/FSM Joint Symposium at the University of Central Florida in Orlando in March and exhibited at Hannover Messe in April, Precision Ceramics made their final appearance on the 2014 international exhibition circuit at the AVS Exhibition.
The Precision Ceramics Stand Number was 416.
Precision Ceramics specialises in the design and manufacture of technical ceramic components for high tech applications. Macor Machinable Glass Ceramic and Shapal Hi-M Soft are particularly suitable for high vacuum applications.
Commenting on the Precision Ceramics presence at AVS, Sales Director, Geoff Randle, commented …
This year’s exhibition programme has provided us with the perfect opportunity to share our extensive knowledge of technical ceramics with both European and US audiences.
Our presence at international trade shows is a further opportunity to highlight the in-house expertise we have established and led to a wider global understanding of our ability to solve technical problems and provide a total ceramics solution.”
