Like it or not, the days of carriage clocks and gold watches as long-service awards are fast disappearing, replaced by gift vouchers and electrical goods as the top gift choices for loyal employees.
This was certainly the case for Andy Cowsill who recently celebrated his 25th anniversary with the McGeoch Organisation. His award – a highly sophisticated Garmin Vivoactive Smartwatch.
Andy joined McGeoch in 1992 as a Capstan Operator. He moved onto CNC machining centres two years later and after enhancing his skills in setting and programming, became Team Leader. In the early 2000’s Andy moved into Precision Ceramics, initially working in the turning section as Team Leader before being appointed Shop Floor Supervisor. More recently, he was first choice to help with the initial start-up and subsequent development of a new in-house manufacturing facility for technical ceramics.
Outside work, Andy’s main hobby is cycling for which his new Garmin Sporty Smartwatch with built-in GPS, sports apps and wrist-based heart rate is going to prove very useful!
